I must’ve been around 18 when I first saw Vanilla Sky, and I was obsessed — the story, the cast, and of course, the soundtrack. I even had a huge crush on Jason Lee — you know, Brodie from Mallrats, that dude. My teen heart ached when Penélope Cruz blurted out, “I’ll tell you in another life, when we are both cats.” It was quirky. It was random. It was sweet. Then, cut to the end, and Tom Cruise says it back — but with a twist, letting her know he will see her again in another life, as cats. Ugh. SWOON. I was dead. And honestly… if you’re a cat, I’m a cat.
Why I Make Handmade Cat Stickers (and Can’t Stop)
Fast forward to today, and here we are — these handmade cat stickers are my own quirky, random, sweet little tribute.

Meet the Stars of My Handmade Cat Stickers
A shy cat peeking out of a teacup, secretly a total sweetie.
My smarty cat with his digital watch, ready to take on the day.
A queen living her best life because, well… she can.
My muse is definitely my cat of 17 years, Ducky, who’s no longer here but very much still with me in spirit. xoxo. Cats have such wildly different personalities, and I wanted each one to feel like its own little character. Think: Stimpy — all heart. Garfield — lazy royalty. Sylvester — determined and terrified at the same time.
One afternoon, I grabbed my iPad and started doodling. Naturally, the first cat was a black cat for my Duck. And of course, those Vanilla Sky quotes started running through my head: What would my cat life be like?
Maybe I’d have the markings of an ocelot, spending my days sunbathing on a cloud and snacking with my best cats all around me.
The Playlist: Another Life, When We're Both Cats
Every sticker set needs a soundtrack, right? This one’s a mix of dreamy, moody, and playfully odd tracks — the kind of songs that make you drift through the air in another life, when you’re curled up on a velvet chair, while tapping your tail to the beat. Expect an appearance from the Vanilla Sky soundtrack (obviously 😏), daydreamers like Radiohead, the smooth strut of “Cool Cat” by Queen, and a few surprise tunes that just feel like cats — mysterious one minute, napping the next.
Design Process/ Mini Meltdown
I just created some stickers in Cricut and Procreate. First, I noticed that in the first batch of drawings I left some space between the tail and body. If I ran it through Cricut, that little gap meant the tail would probably tear off easily. So I went back into Cricut, filled in the space, and voilà — tail fixed. It’s the little things.
Next, I printed some cats and started to laminate. Of course, the very first page I laminated, I messed up and immediately started questioning what I was doing with my life. But truthfully, I was rushing and impatient. After a snack and a nap, I came back to tackle the next batch — which turned out pretty good 🙂. Mini win!
Then it was time to run them through Big Bertha (aka Cricut). Did I forget to calibrate the machine? You know I did. But I was on a roll, so I kept going. Most of them came out pretty good overall. There were a
few mishaps with the laminating — one cat came out looking like Scarface, but honestly, is that a bad thing? Nope. It gives him character. In the end, I’d spend multiple lives with these bad boys.
So maybe in this life, I’m just making cat stickers and playlists… but in the next one? I’ll see you in another life, when we’re both cats — probably stealing sunbeams, wearing fabulous collars, and walking into every room with “Cool Cat” by Queen as our theme song. Also, look at this little guy who came by my window :)

Lizard Buddy says he’s now part of the Purr Purr Press street team. Merch coming soon. 🦎
